In this paper, biochar applications to water treatment studies in the world were presented by using the data collected from the articles in the literature. The studies were organized and presented based on parameters such as feedstock/biomass derived, biochar features, water conditions, and observations. The results showed that the studies had a variety of values of these parameters, indicating that biochar has a potential in environmental applications to be investigated further for future studies.

In this paper, biomass thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) studies conducted in Turkey were presented by using the data collected from the articles in the literature. The studies were organized and presented based on the values of parameters such as biomass/biomass or biomass/coal blending ratio, heating rate, carrier gas type, kinetic models applied, feedstock particle size, feedstock sample amount, TGA final temperature, and carrier gas flow rate. The results showed that the studies had a variety of values of these parameters, indicating that TGA studies in Turkey cover different aspects of biomass pyrolysis and combustion processes.
